Loan Periods

  • DVDs, Blu-Ray, Children’s DVDs (limit 7 per household) with a seven day loan
  • DVD Series (limit 3 per household) with a fourteen day loan
  • New Adult Books, Holiday Books, and Magazines with a fourteen day loan
  • Museum Passes with a two day loan
  • All other Books and Audiobooks with a twenty-one day loan

*All items may be renewed once if there is no waiting list (excludes Museum Passes and School Summer Reading items)

Fines

Books & Audiobooks: $.10/day up to $2.00
DVDs: $1.00/day up to $10.00
Museum Passes: $2.00/day up to $50.00

Library Card

The Middlebury Public Library will issue a free library card to any patron who is a current resident of Middlebury and can establish proof of residency. Patrons must apply for a library card in person. Children under 18 are required to have a parent or guardian’s signature when applying for a library card with the adult assuming full responsibility for activity on the child’s card. Children must be able to write their name to apply for a library card.

Library cards are valid for three years from the date they are issued. Upon expiration, library cards may be renewed for an additional three years. Renewals must be done in person at the Middlebury Public Library and valid identification and proof of residency must be provided.  There is a $2.00 replacement fee.
